Ways Augmented Reality Is Shaping the Future

It won't take an actual AR showing for you to see the ways augmented reality is shaping the future; you can witness it for yourself, all around you.

What is augmented reality? It's a revolutionary new form of technology, quite similar to virtual reality, but different only for not being present within the screen. AR and VR technologies are greatly being advanced and sophisticated more and more. Since the evolution of Pokémon GO and the arrival of Apple's ARkit, this new type of viewership and experience of the world around us has dramatically changed our environment. This is among ways augmented reality is shaping the future, by completely revamping the very landscape placed before us, giving us whole new feats to reach.

You'd be surprised to find there are literally berths of contextual necessities for AR. Whether it's for real estate and finance, or gaming an artistic expression, augmented reality will continue to make us challenge the everyday mundane and to look at the world around us not only differently, but completely enhanced. The next step in AR is using the technology in conjunction with big data and cloud computing, but for now there's already a great many connotations that can be made from this evolving piece of tech.

Video Gaming

One of the most sophisticated and advanced forms of virtual reality in use today are for video games. While the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive have themselves made a lot of buzz in this sector, the PlayStation VR system is probably the most beloved in the gaming industry.

With the far less known concepts inherent in Pokémon GO, one 2017 mobile game downloaded en mass, a more ingrained examination of AR has now taken root. This can be seen in the Disney-Lenovo shared Star Wars Jedi Challenges, for which gave fans the chance to don the lightsaber like never before. Despite it being an AR experience, it's still among ways augmented reality is shaping the future.

Mixed Media

Despite the fact that AR is a form of media itself, mixed media is among the ways augmented reality is shaping the future. But, what exactly is mixed media? It's a form of artistic expression but blended through a variety of contexts, like some of the most immersive technological advancements as viewed under Facebook's new Social VR platform.

This was only a short demonstration of Mark Zuckerberg and his video trip to Puerto Rico utilizing the platform's "Spaces" function. This was a live video chat between Mark and their head of social VR, Rachel Franklin, both of whom were in separate offices wearing headsets to commune over the concerns of Puerto Rican lifestyles.

Building Otherworlds

Through the use of Windows Mixed Reality, a new concept in the world of AR is being advanced through connectivity with PCs and other forms of tech. This is a new form of platform for both AR and VR capabilities. Think of it: a self-built world in a small space of your own room, wherein you can whatever you want. That's among ways augmented reality is shaping the future.

While others might find entertainment and gaming as the sole producer of bigger an better content in AR, it's actually not quite that simple. Windows Mixed Reality is the adaptation we need in the building of better spaces for knowledge, technology, and cultural expression. Augmented reality in this form is that next step closer to the future.

Learning

Who would have thought that AR could be used in education? Obviously, this is where AR is being highly advanced for more profitable concepts and revolutionary necessities, but it's still in the prime of its technological reach.

As of right now, the ways augmented reality is shaping the future can be mostly seen in the likes of younger children, who can benefit greatly from what's considered "reality testing," despite what some might think of tech in connotation with children, AR can be highly beneficial if used correctly.

Exploring the Cosmos

I'm not even joking, among ways augmented reality is shaping the future is by drawing a more sophisticated and enhanced world around us. Just look at what the CEO of iCandi Apps, Andy Weekes, has to say:

"You're able to walk through the asteroid belt, see planetary moons, and manipulate time and space. You can even track NASA missions within your living room."

That's how we can expect to see AR within our world; like intergalactic plot points on a 3D map of the universe. Excited? I know I am. Download Night Sky right now to see some of the coolest features in the sophisticated augmented reality format and experience some creative ways we are using augmented reality in marketing and advertising, as well.

Testing Products

As one can see from AR marketing and advertising, the testing of certain products is among ways augmented reality is shaping the future. We can download something as simple as the IKEA application and can literally ensure if a couch or sofa will fit inside any particular space within our home.

This isn't just an IKEA thing, either. Just look at Spacesaver's new form of AR tech. They're utilizing the 3D map like never before in picturing the scale of your face for trying on glasses and digitally.

Doctor Reimaginings

New engaging entertainment products, like Parker (an AR teddy bear), will only begin to revamp the ways augmented reality is shaping the future, specifically in the case of medicine and doctor visits. Despite what many may think about the bear, Parker is all-new way of engaging medicine right before our eyes.

One can think of augmented reality in the medical field as the x-ray machine had at once sufficiently revamped the entire field. AR is only the next step. By inviting all new forms of revolutionary technology to the world, like that of still-advancing AR capabilities, the easier our jobs will get. This is also how augmented reality will change the way we work, by literally revolutionizing sight and viewership itself.

Artistic Expression

It shouldn't come as a surprise to see a form of technological wonder now being used in the field of art and contemporary style. One of the best showcasing of art in the AR format is through the Royal Academy and their Virtually Real art exhibition.

This is most obvious among ways augmented reality is shaping the future, as anyone can guess the new parallels made between artistic might and technological advances in modern collaboration. Art is the best way AR will be advanced, especially if used in connection with education.

E-Governance

Okay, wait a second, I thought we were talking about virtual reality and not internet government realities? Well, they actually can both go hand in hand if used correctly, as e-governance is among ways augmented reality is shaping the future.

How would this work? What would this look like? Imagine literally looking at the very policies and documentations made by governments on a daily basis? Or, better, look at how such accessibility through the likes of smart phones can be foundational in bringing citizens together more than ever before. As is the case for public works projects and legal, regulatory frameworks, all utilized on an almost "breathing," or living platform.

Urban Mobility

Not only will VR help adapt travel itself, but it can also be utilized with tourism as well. In urban mobility alone, the ways augmented reality is shaping the future is by helping to design a connectivity platform for all forms of travel in a city. That's right, a connectivity made between each and every possibly route in public transportation will not only make operators and drivers more aware of schedules, but it can also have amazing qualities in mapping and accessibility through transit networks.

Tourism, of course, isn't the only one being modified, as like VR, AR is also helping us visit museums from out home. Now, more than ever, technology is bringing our ever close world even closer by way of enhancing certain places, like battlefields, castles, and historic buildings alike.

Big Data

With the invention of sensor-based networks and smarter infrastructure for data incorporation, the ways augmented reality is shaping the future can most assuredly be seen through governmental changes. As random, or unexpected, as that might sound, AR functionalities can be greatly modified in the context of big data, as it's used in the public sector of "lighting up" real data itself.

By combining big data with open data and smart infrastructure, one can see how VR will modify technological formulations in cross-platform incentives. In other words, much like how we view smartphones and smart homes today can become the likes of smart cities in the future. How? Through revolutionizing big data in ways we have yet to even understand entirely.
