The Problem with Cash Apps

And How They Are the Most Frustrating Thing in the World

Cash apps, whether you have used them or not, seem like they are popping up everywhere. Just from the name alone, you can get the general gist of what they are. Cash apps usually promise users cash back for taking surveys, downloading other apps, or just completing different tasks. These apps promise the user a very quick and easy way if getting cash. Boy is that a lie.

To say that I haven't fallen victim to these apps would be a gigantic lie. In fact, I still have some of them on my phone. Hypocritical? Believe me, I know. As a teenager whose just trying to get some cash in her pocket, I'll bite at anything right now. This rabbit hole I fell down actually started recently, but I was fortunate enough to see through these apps' facade, quickly. As stated before, I am a teenager with no way of earning a regular income. In my desperate time, I decided to turn to the only viable option I had: the Internet. I used YouTube to look up videos on ways people can earn money through the Internet. I sifted through, trying to find any video that wasn't a scam. Finally, I landed on a video that directed me to apps that were guaranteed to give me cash. I was so excited.

The app didn't lie about the cash part, but it lied about the quickness of it all. What all these apps fail to tell you is that you need to have patience. Oh my God, do you need patience! You aren't going to become a billionaire overnight, obviously I knew that, but the amount of time it took to get one dollar was insane. Yes, many apps give you something to start off with, but earning on your own is a completely different story. I have several of these apps, several, and I still haven't been able to accumulate $20. Most of the time, I can't qualify for anything. You would think, that a lot of these apps would be directed to my age pool. You would think, that these apps would make it easier. You would think I would be smarter than to feed into any of this. Apparently not.

I understand that I might come off as ignorant. Yes, I know what the term, "There Is No Such Thing as Free Lunch" means. Yes, I understand I'm not the most patient person in the world, I mean come on it is a virtue. However, my main problem with these apps is how they market them. They make it seem easy, fun, quick, etc. But its very misleading. I know saying that you get what you put in isn't the most appealing approach to marketing, but at least don't lie about how much coins it takes to earn $50, or that you can me $10-$20 a day. This is where I was suckered in. I was so tempted by the marketing techniques that I couldn't see the truth.

Now I'm not saying these apps are evil, or that you shouldn't get them. What I am saying is that you should be aware of what you are signing up for. Don't be fooled by the flashy advertising. Try to have patience and try to be smart about what apps you get. I really mean it, patience is your best friend.
